RIVERSIDE WALK – SHAWS BRIDGE

Travel:Train – Whitehead 9.45a.m.; Carrickfergus 9.54a.m.; Greenisland 10.03.m.; Jordanstown 10.06a.m. to Belfast – Grand Central arriving at 10.30 a.m.
Bus: The 8b from Great Northern Mall, Great Victoria Street (10 min walk from the station)- 10.48 a.m. arriving at Malone Hill Park at 10.58 a.m. (the 8b runs from Great Norther Mall every 20 minutes).
The Walk – approx. 3 miles
After leaving the bus walk to the entrance of Clement Wilson Patk and follow the path to Shaws Bridge.
The walk is along the bank of the river Lagan to Gilchrist Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the river side path to Minnowburn, then to Shaw’s Bridge and onto Lock Keeper’s Cottage for lunch.
After lunch follow the path back to Clement Wilson Park and the bus stop for the return journey.
