Walk Details
We will walk through Barnetts Demesne down the side of Malone House towards the Lagan to Shaw’s Bridge and turn right along the river path up to Gilchrists Bridge. We will cross the river and go down the other side via Minnowburn to Lock Keeper’s Lodge where we will have lunch. We will then return to the Upper Malone Road via William Clements Park to get the 8b bus back into town.
The route is mostly on good paths but there are some muddy areas on one side of the river.
Lunch – At Lock Keeper’s Lodge . Those that wish can bring a packed lunch.
Return Journey – By bus 8b to Gt Victoria Street Train Station
Toilets – Available at the train station and at Gate Keeper’s Lodge.
