Queen’s Island Maritime Walk

MEETING POINT/TIME: Lanyon Place Train Station, 10.50am

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

Outward Journey:

Train – Whitehead 10.15am; Carrickfergus 10.24; Jordanstown 10.36; Lanyon Place 10.50am.

Return Journey:

Train – Lanyon Place 1.45pm, and at 30 minute intervals thereafter (journey time to Whitehead, 35 minutes).

BY CAR: There is a public car park beside Lanyon Place Train Station (charges apply)

THE WALK: We will start our walk from Lanyon Place Train Station, crossing the River Lagan and continuing along the east bank until we meet the Queen’s Bridge. From here, we will follow the walking trail past the SSE Arena, SS Nomadic, Titanic Building, the Great Light and HMS Caroline until we reach the Thompson Dock.

LUNCH: There is a café at Titanic Distillers at Thompson Dock. Hot lunches are available, such as chowder, burgers, stew and paninis.

Alternatively, you may choose to bring your own lunch and eat at the outside tables at Thompson Dock.

TOILETS: There are toilets at Lanyon Place Railway Station and at Thompson Dock.
