North Down Coastal Walk – Carnalea to Bangor

Public Transport- By train to Lanyon Place, then change to Bangor line.
Whitehead 9.45, Carrickfergus 9.54, Greenisland 10.03, Jordanstown 10.06, Whiteabbey 10.10
Arriving Lanyon Place at 10.21. Then Bangor train from Lanyon at 10.40
Return trains from Bangor Train Station at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour.(Bangor Station) or
31 and 1 minute past the hour .(Carnalea station.)
Anyone travelling by car note that there is very very limited car parking at Carnalea station.
Walk – Will be approximately 3.5 miles and take about 2.5—3.0 hours including lunch. The walk is mostly flat on tarmac paths.

Route follows the north down coastal route past pickie pool complex to Bangor Pier, and the on to Wolsey’s bar & Restaurant High Street Bangor for 13.00
Walkers can either return home from Bangor train station or carry on to the starting point, Carnalea train station.

Lunch – Wolsey’s Bar & Restaurant Bangor, but walkers may bring their own lunch.

Toilets – No toilets at Carnalea Station, but available at Pickie pool and at Bangor Marina
