Blackhead Walk – Friday 27th September

Short walk 3 -3.5 mls, 1.5 hrs + 1 hr for lunch

Meeting point: 11.15am Carpark beside Whitehead train station.

Outward journey – train

Whiteabbey     10.35

 Return – Train leaves Whitehead – 14.15, 14.45, 145.15

 By car – Follow main road through Carrick to Whitehead, turn right at garage onto Cable Road and take third avenue on left. Follow road through town, over bridge  and take right turn towards station carpark.

 The Walk

 Leave carpark and follow promenade in Whitehead towards Blackhead Lighthouse. Level + good surface.

After last house on shore path, turn left and take gentle winding path + some steps ( a little steep) up to the Lighthouse.

Walk down passed Whitehead Golf Club and back into Whitehead for lunch.

 I had hoped for lunch at the Golf Club, but checking with them yesterday they advised they had a wedding booked for that day and were unable to taking any further bookings.

 We will now have lunch at The Bank House in Whitehead.
