U3A FAMILY HISTORY GROUP

The group usually meet on the first Monday each month from September to June.

Sometimes we have to cancel or change the date we meet because of Bank holidays when Nelson Street

is closed . This year 23-24 we have four bank holiday’s, the January 24 meeting was cancelled.

With the help of Teresa Connor, she was able to fit us in for the third Monday for April, May, June,

so the new dates will be April 15th, May 20th, June 17th.

In the light of this it might be better to hold our meetings on the third Monday each month in future.

First I would like to hear the opinion of the group members before making a final decision.

Our U3A branch are holding an Open Day in Nelson Street on Wednesday 5^th June, from 10-00am to 1-00pm.

This is to publicise and show what our U3A does among the various groups.

On the day as many groups as possible will each have a table showing what their group does.

I hope to have a table for the family history group, to show people how to get started to find their ancestors.

Our U3A will be holding Workshops from Monday 5^th August to Friday 16^th August in Nelson Street.

This is still at the planning stage, with no details yet, I will pass on the details when they become available.
