Bangor Castle Walled Gardens and Ward Park Fri 6th February  11.00am

Walk is approx 2.5 – 3mls approx 2 hrs + lunch after.

 Train times as follows; Carrick 9.24, Troopers Lane 9.30, Greenisland 9.33, Jordanstown 9.36, Whiteabbey 9.40 arriving Lanyon Place 9.52.

 Bangor train leaves Lanyon Place at  10.15 arriving Bangor at 10.48. Walk starts 11.00.

 Walk from station up to Bangor Castle  ( there is a museum at Bangor Castle with free admission if anyone wants to visit).  Walk will continue through Castle grounds down to Walled Gardens.

 After Walled Gardens we will exit grounds and continue down past leisure centre and college towards Ward Park.

Path maybe muddy through Castle grounds , but remainder of walk is on tarmac.  Route is mainly flat. There is a coffee shop at Walled Garden and also Ward Park – cash only.

 Lunch can be taken at one of several coffee shops on Main street, or at Wolseys in High Street where we have eaten before after previous Bangor walks.  Toilets are available at both train stations and cafes.

 Trains back to Lanyon leave Bangor at 11  + 41 mins past the hour.
