Transport – By Car
As the return bus service from Hillsborough has in the past proved unreliable it has been decided to make this journey by car this time.
Route – Take M1 to Sprucefield exit. Follow A1 to Hillsborough. Drive through the village, up the hill past Hillsborough Castle. Take the first turn left signposted to the Forest Park.
Route of Walk – We will walk around the lake then go past Hillsborough Fort, down to St Malachys Parish Church and up the hill to Hillside Restaurant
The path is fairly level and on reasonably good surfaces but can be muddy in places depending on the weather.
Lunch – We will have lunch at the Hillside Bar/Restaurant on the Main Street. Toilets are available the town car park and at the Hillside.
