Mossley West 10.33

From the station cross the road to the Mossley Mill and walk down through the Civic Centre to the start of the Newtownabbey Way at the bottom of the Mossley Mill Car Park.

 Car:

There is parking at Mossley West or at Mossley Mill.

 The Walk: Distance 3.33 miles

1. Start at the bottom of the Mossley Mill car park at 10.50 a.m.at the start of the Newtownabbey Way.

2. Join the Newtownabbey Way through the wooded area alongside the river until you reach the road.

3. Cross the road and then go down the walkway and along the river under the bridge and into the woods.

4. Follow the path over the next bridge to the first junction and turn to the right (just before the next bridge) and continue along a path that starts to go up hill.

5. Continue along the path which goes up and down and at the next junction keep left.

6. The path zig-zags to the next junction, at this junction keep left.

7. Follow the path past the next junction and follow the path round to join the tarmac path, turn left.

8. Follow the path which will join up with the path used on the outward route back to the Mill.

9. Lunch at the Café at the Mill or at Ashers Café (opposite the new Crematorium).

  All the paths are well marked and either tarmac or gravel.  There are some steep paths but there are plenty of seats to take a rest.

The weather forecast is reasonable but be prepared  for some rain.
