MEETING POINT/TIME – Coleraine Railway Station at 10.45am
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Train: Whitehead 8.45am; Carrickfergus 8.54am; Greenisland 9.03am; Jordanstown 9.06am; Whiteabbey 9.10am; change at Yorkgate for the 9.24am train to Londonderry which calls at Mossley West at 9.33am and Antrim at 9.47am. Arrival time at Coleraine is 10.43am and we then take the 11.05am bus No.140a, arriving in Portstewart on Strand Road at approx 11.18am.
BY CAR – Car Parking is available in the Park and Ride at Coleraine Railway Station or on nearby streets.
WALK – The walk will be down past Portstewart Golf Club, along the Strand and back, via the Cliff Path and finishing at the harbour end of the Portstewart Promenade. It is on firm sand and tarmac paths with 2 sets of steps up to and on the Cliff Path.
LUNCH – Packed Lunch is a possibility and there are various coffee shops on the Promenade including Born and Bred, Awaken, Coffee Culture, Coffee Hut and Three Kings to name but a few – you may already have your favourite! Amici is a little way out on the road to Portrush so bus times back from it are about 5 minutes earlier..
RETURN JOURNEY – Buses No 140b leave Portstewart Promenade at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour (we will point out the bus stop) arriving in Coleraine at 38 and 08 minutes past the hour. Trains leave every hour at 19 minutes past the hour.
TOILETS – available at Coleraine Bus/Railway Station, on the road down to the Strand beside Harry’s Shack and in the cafes in Portstewart.
