MEETING POINT/TIME: Main gate of Stormont, Upper Newtownards Road at 10.45 am

Outward Journey:

Train:

Depart Whitehead 9.45 am, Carrickfergus 9.54 am, Jordanstown 10.06 am;  arrive Lanyon Place 10.22 am.

Glider Bus:

Depart Lanyon Place 10.30 am; arrive Stormont 10.44 am.

Return Journey:

Glider Bus:

Depart from outside Stormont Hotel 1.55 pm; arrive Lanyon Place 2.10 pm.

Train:

Depart Lanyon Place 2.25 pm; arrive Jordanstown 2.39 pm, Carrickfergus 2.50 pm, Whitehead 3.00 pm (terminus).

BY CAR:

Take the M5/M2 towards Belfast, taking the Belfast City Airport/Bangor lane.  Take the A2 (Sydenham Bypass), pass City Airport and take the right-hand lane, following the signs to the Outer Ring and Newtownards (A55) until it reaches the Upper Newtownards Road (A20) at the Knock junction.  Turn left onto the Upper Newtownards Road and continue past the main gate at Stormont.  Turn left at the second set of traffic lights into the free car park.  Park and walk back towards the main gate to the Stormont Estate.

THE WALK:

The walk is fairly flat and well surfaced with some slight inclines.

LUNCH:

We will have lunch in the Maynard Sinclair Pavilion within the grounds of Stormont.  We will leave the Pavilion by no later than 1.40 pm in order to walk back to the Upper Newtownards Road to catch the glider bus.  Note that there are loos in the Stormont Estate and in the Pavilion.
