Walk – Friday 18th October

North Down Coastal Path

 Our  walk is on ..18th October 2024 will be along the North down coastal path from Seahill train station to Cultra or Holywood train stations.

Meeting Point – Seahill train station at 11.01am.

 Public Transport– By train to Lanyon Place, then change to Bangor line.

 Whitehead 9.45, Carrickfergus 9.54, Greenisland 10.03, Jordanstown 10.06, Whiteabbey 10.09

 Arriving at Lanyon Place at 10.20. Then Bangor train from Lanyon Place at 10.42

 Return trains:….

 Cultra at 17 and 47 minutes past the hour.

Holywood at 21 and 51 minutes past the hour.

 Carrick trains at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour from Lanyon.

 Route:

Seahill to Cultra station – approx. 3 miles

Seahill to  Holywood station – approx. 4.5 miles

(for those wanting a longer walk).

 After walking downhill from Seahill station for about 15 mins, we will proceed along the North Down coastal path towards Cultra and Holywood. The path is mostly smooth and flat but there are a few rough parts and a couple of steeper inclines.There is also a few puddles en-route if it has rained.  There are plenty of opportunities to stop along the way.  Cultra Station is approx. 0.5 mile uphill from the coastal path.

For those finishing at Cultra, refreshments

are available at the Cultra Inn (beside Cultra train station).

For those walking on to Holywood, refreshments are available at the Dirty Duck restaurant (near the end of the walk). Alternatively, there are several restaurants and coffee shops available across the road in Holywood.
