Divis and Black Mountain Walk

Meeting Point- Car Park at entrance to National Trust “Divis and Black Mountain” 11.00 am
Walk – The Ridge Trail is a 4.2 mile circular route. The walk will be about 3.5 hours including a break for lunch.
Leaving the National Trust Cafe we will go uphill along the road and then turn onto a “Board Walk” and then on to a well-defined gravel and stone pitched trail that takes you up to the summit of Black Mountain. The trail continues along the Ridge giving panoramic views before descending to the Collin River and back to the cafe. The track is rough in places and parts are quite steep.

Refreshments – Snacks and drinks are available at cafe but you should bring a packed lunch.
Public Transport.
Train from Whitehead at 9.15, Carrickfergus 9.24, Greenisland 9.36, Jordanstown 9.40 arriving Great Victoria Station at 10.00 am
Glider G1 from College Square East at 10.22am arriving at Colin Connect at 10.49am. Ron will meet those travelling by public transport at bus stop at Colin Connect
The Glider stop is outside the bus station so enter the bus station and wait for the Private Hire Bus to Divis which arrives approx. 11.00am
The bus leaves Divis Mountain on the hour every 45 minutes until 5.25pm
The Glider leaves Colin Collect about every 8 minutes.
