Leader: Robin Larmour Mobile Phone 07815 888239
Meeting Point: Car Park Glenariff Forest Park at 11.00am
Transport: By Car – Journey takes approx. 1 hour 15 mins along coast road from Carrickfergus or by A43 Ballymena to Cushendall Road.
Duration/Distance: Approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours – 5.5 miles
Terrain: Forest Paths through woodland and along streams. Some of the paths are steep and one section has a step climb up uneven steps. However it is well worth it for the wonderful views of the local area and out to sea. There is also rich local fauna and flora to enjoy.
Refreshments: There is the Café situated at the Car Park which caters for basic tastes. For anybody requiring a more substantial menu there is the Laragh Lodge Restaurant located at the bottom waterfall Ess-na-Crub. Tel 028 2175 8221
- There is a car park charge of £5.00 per car at the forest park. To limit the cost walkers could arrange to meet at Carrickfergus Harbour car park and a couple of cars go up to Glenarrif. Walkers can contact me (Robin Larmour) on my mobile at 07815 888239.
- There are toilet facilities situated at the forest car park.
